Changing Direction

I am changing my major!

From Agricultural Business to International Apparel Merchandizing and Marketing.

I can't hardly even begin to explain how exciting this is for me.

Lets just say.....I am a lucky, lucky lady. Who gets to wake up every day (starting tomorrow) and live my dream.

I know that sounds corny. But I don't care. It is the darn truth.

Its amazingly energizing. However, its late right now and I have a BIG day tomorrow. Have to work out all the paperwork for switching my major :)

Panic. Nine Days.

So. I never wanted to come to college.

I wanted to skip all that book learnin' and travel the world. Join the peace core. Live in Alaska.

That didn't happen and here I am, in college, doing lots of that darn book learnin'

I am growing quite fond of it, though. I am even going to apply to do some undergraduate research. It has been wildly energizing. Until today. I hit my first (of many) bump in the road.

I realized (finally) that I am in way over my head. There are so many new terms and procedures and processes that I know nothing about! I can stick my arm in a cow and pull out a calf. I can wash and dry laundry. I can book plane tickets to chicago. I can carry on a conversation in broken spanish.

but.

I am not sure if I can get a proposal done in the next nine days. I don't even know what my topic is....I have an idea....but not really.

Vaquera~Sierra

This is a blog about beginning.
Beginning to grow up. learn spanish. follow my dreams.

Also. Names mean a lot to me. So I was pretty picky about picking a name for this blog. I tried to get as much meaning into it's title as possible.

What's In a Name?
1. I am learning (and loving) Spanish right now, so I wanted to use one of my new words
2. I wanted something easy to remember and I thought the rhyming of the spanish word and my name was perfect.
3. I didn't like vaquera just becasue it rhymed with Sierra, I also liked the word becasue it translates as...cowgirl...and that is a wonderful word packed with more meaning than I even know.

So this is the beginning of one cowgirl's blog about beginnings....and wherever they might lead!
